On June 6th, Gizcoupon reported that the official global website of Xiaomi has recently launched the Redmi Buds 4 Active. Several improvements have been made compared to the previously released standard version of Redmi Buds 4.
The Redmi Buds 4 Active is equipped with a 12mm large dynamic driver unit, an upgrade from the 10mm unit in the standard version. However, this earphone does not support active noise cancellation. Additionally, its water resistance certification level is IPX4 (compared to IPX5 in the standard version).
It features a larger earbud size and a more sleek charging case. The earphones, together with the charging case, provide a maximum battery life of 28 hours. A single charge of the earphones themselves can offer up to 5 hours of playback time.
This earphone also supports fast charging, with just 10 minutes of charging, providing 2 hours of playback time. The earphones support Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and Google Fast Pair. Moreover, they offer various touch controls, including double-tap, triple-tap, and long-press.
According to the information found on the official website, the Redmi Buds 4 Active, along with the charging case, has a total weight of 42 grams. The charging case has a battery capacity of 440mAh. Currently, this earphone is available only in black color and supports the SBC audio codec. However, specific release dates and pricing have not been disclosed yet.
