On June 2nd, Gizcoupon reported that Apple opened two Apple Stores in India last month. The initial month’s revenue ranged between 440 to 500 million Indian Rupees (approximately 5.3 to 6.1 million USD). This is more than double the highest revenue earned by electronics stores in the country during the non-Diwali period.

Apple inaugurated its first-ever retail store in India, named Apple BKC, in Mumbai on April 18th. On its first day, the store generated sales exceeding 100 million Indian Rupees (around 1.21 million USD). In comparison, the monthly revenue of major local electronic retailers ranges between 20 to 30 million Indian Rupees (approximately 0.24 to 0.36 million USD).

While Apple BKC has undoubtedly boosted the sales of Apple in India, the newly opened Apple Saket stores on April 20th have demonstrated even better revenue per square foot.

Apple BKC spans approximately 22,000 square feet, whereas the Saket store exceeds 10,000 square feet. Despite the Saket store being less than half the size of the BKC store, both stores have achieved comparable sales figures, ranging between 220 to 250 million Indian Rupees (about 0.25 to 0.30 million USD). As per Gizcoupon, both stores witnessed a footfall of over 6,000 visitors on their opening day.
