sensitivity and fills the light two-wheel drive

According to the official statement, the Vivo S17 series achieves a breakthrough in portrait photography while maintaining a lightweight and thin design. It utilizes a “sensitivity and fills the light two-wheel drive,” combining leading light sensitivity and professional supplementary light technology. The Vivo S17 series enhances the light sensitivity of both the front and rear cameras. The front camera features a 50MP sensor with the largest f/2.0 aperture of Vivo to allow 50% more light. The rear camera adopts a 50MP ultra-light-sensitive portrait lens, employing a large 1/1.57-inch sensor across the series. It also incorporates OIS optical stabilization, increasing light intake by more than three times.

A professional telephoto portrait lens

Additionally, the Vivo S17 Pro features a professional telephoto portrait lens. It supports 2x optical zoom. It has achieved the first-ever capture of landscape moon photography. Combined with the main camera, the moon is in the same frame as mountains, rivers, lakes, seas, and city landmarks. The Vivo S17 Pro also introduces a multi-spectral sensor, a first for Vivo smartphones. It features 13 channels, equivalent to having 13 eyes. This breaks down light in such fine detail that it is more than four times the perception of a regular smartphone. It is like doing “DNA” identification for light. It achieves a record 92.7% film yield in terms of exposure and white balance accuracy, far exceeding the industry average.

A new wide-angle soft light selfie feature

The Vivo S17 series also introduces a new wide-angle soft light selfie feature. It offers a front-facing wide-angle autofocus lens with adjustable zoom ranging from 0.8x to 2x. It is complemented by an upgraded dual soft light for wide-angle selfies, ensuring that everyone is illuminated by soft lit, whether taking selfies or group photos. The Vivo S17 series also features an intelligent soft light ring. The soft light ring has increased in diameter by over 20%, almost the size of a small adult finger ring, providing 9 times the illumination area of a regular phone flash. Combined with Vivo’s super-sensing computational engine, it can intelligently adjust the fill light color temperature according to the surrounding lighting conditions, producing outstanding portraits in warm or cool light. It also introduces a new soft light food mode, making it easy to capture stunning food photos.

According to the official statement, the Vivo S17 series separates soft light and flash, drawing inspiration from professional photography. It creates a “slow shutter portrait flash” derived from DSLR cameras. This professional flash function achieves perfect coordination between the supplementary light and the camera shutter: illuminating the subject in an instant with the flash and then brightening the background with a slow shutter speed, resulting in clear subjects and scenery.

In other aspects, the Vivo S17/S17t has a thickness of 7.46mm and weighs 186g. It supports Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, a rotary motor, and a single speaker. Additionally, it runs on OriginOS 3, based on Android 13. The Vivo S17 Pro has a thickness of 7.46mm and weighs 188g. It supports Bluetooth 5.3 and shares similar specifications with the Vivo S17/S17t.
