On May 26, Gizcoupon reported that Xiaomi had previously released the Redmi 12C smartphone, and now the new Redmi 12 Global Version is on its way. This device has already appeared in the IMEI, FCC, and TKDN databases.
Redmi 12 specifications
According to the report from French media Dealabs, the Redmi 12 Global Version will feature a plastic body and frame. It has dimensions of 168.60mm × 76.28mm × 8.17mm and weighs 199 grams. Additionally, it comes with a built-in 5000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging (some sources claim it supports 33W). It also has a USB Type-C port and dual SIM card slots.
It features a 6.79-inch IPS TFT display with Full HD+ resolution (2460×1080). Furthermore, it boasts a pixel density of 396 PPI. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which provides protection against accidental drops and scratches. It supports a maximum refresh rate of 90Hz and features Xiaomi’s AdaptiveSync refresh rate technology. It can automatically switch between 30Hz, 48Hz, 60Hz, or 90Hz based on the displayed content.
The Redmi 12 will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 chipset. Moreover, it is expected to come with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with support for microSD card expansion up to 1TB.
In terms of cameras, the Redmi 12 will sport a 50MP primary camera (with an f/1.8 aperture), an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera, along with an 8MP front-facing camera (with an f/2.5 aperture).
Other notable features of the Redmi 12 include dual speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, fingerprint recognition, and AI face recognition. It is expected to come pre-installed with MIUI 13, based on Android 12.
According to reports, the Redmi 12 Global Version will be launched in Europe on June 2nd, Beijing time. It will be priced at 199 euros (Gizcoupon note: approximately $214 at current exchange rates). Additionally, it will be available in three color options: blue, silver, and black.
