On May 24th, Gizcoupon reported that Xiaomi had released several new products ahead of the 618 shopping festival in China. For instance, the Xiaomi TV S series has introduced new versions in 55 inches and 85 inches. Pre-sales for these versions commenced at 8:00 am Beijing time on May 23rd.
- The inaugural price for the 55-inch version is set at 2,399 yuan (approximately $339).
- The inaugural price for the 85-inch version is set at 5,999 yuan (approximately $849).
The Xiaomi TV S series is essentially a continuation of the previous EA/ES series. In the future, Xiaomi TVs will exist in only three series, with the Master series representing high-end products. The S series represents the main lineup, while the A series caters to the entry-level segment.
These two new models of the Xiaomi TV S series maintain the basic specifications of the previous 65/75-inch version. They are powered by the MediaTek MT9653 chipset and come with 3+32GB storage. Additionally, all models feature a native 4K 144Hz high refresh rate screen with a resolution of 3840 x 2160. They also support 1.07 billion colors, 48-144Hz VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), and MEMC motion compensation.
Furthermore, the new devices support Wi-Fi 6, NFC remote control, and far-field voice recognition. They are also equipped with two HDMI 2.1 interfaces.
