According to a recent tweet by @Tech_Reve, a reliable source, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will still feature the same 200-megapixel HP2 sensor as the S23 Ultra. However, Samsung is expected to introduce an upgraded version of the HP2 sensor in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This will significantly improve the light reception and will be implemented on a 17nm logic board.
It is only in the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra that we can expect an upgrade in sensor size, with a 1/1.12 inch sensor, which is close to a full 1-inch sensor size.

It is worth noting that Samsung’s ISOCELL HP2 sensor has a resolution of 200 megapixels and a size of 1/1.3 inches. Sony has already introduced a 1-inch sensor for smartphones. The Xperia PRO-I is the first smartphone to feature a large sensor in 2021. Vivo and Xiaomi have since released models with similar specifications.
The ISOCELL HP2 is a camera sensor developed by Samsung that was announced in August 2021. It has a resolution of 50 megapixels and uses Samsung’s ISOCELL 2.0 technology. Therefore, it can reduce cross-talk between adjacent pixels and improve color accuracy. It is a sensor designed for flagship smartphones and other high-end mobile devices.
