Gizcoupon reported on April 26th that the Xiaomi Poco F5 Pro smartphone had previously appeared on the Geekbench website. Now, a new Xiaomi-made phone with the model number Xiaomi 23049PCD8G has been spotted on the same benchmarking website. It has the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset and 12GB of RAM. It is expected to be the Poco F5 standard edition.
Snapdragon India has confirmed that this device is indeed the Poco F5. It will be India’s first smartphone to use the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset, which is built on the TSMC 4nm process. Qualcomm has stated that compared to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, this platform will bring a 50% overall performance improvement, a 13% efficiency improvement, and a 2x AI performance improvement. According to the Geekbench score, the Poco F5 has a single-core score of 1629 and a multi-core score of 4295.
The configuration specifications of the Xiaomi Poco F5 are very similar to those of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo. It is expected to be a different name version of the same product. The Poco F5 will feature a 5000mAh battery and 67W fast charging. It will also come pre-installed with MIUI 14 based on Android 13. Other specifications are expected to include a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen and a rear 64MP main camera.
Compared to the previous generation Xiaomi Poco F4, which used the Snapdragon 870 chipset, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset (with a CPU large core frequency of 2.92GHz, as noted by Gizcoupon) brings a more significant performance improvement.
