Gizcoupon reported on April 21st that Xiaomi released its new smart band, the Xiaomi Band 8, with a starting price of about $34 and about $40 for the NFC version. According to a statement from Tianma(Tianma Microelectronics Company of Chian), they provided a 1.62-inch OLED curved display for the Xiaomi Band 8.
Tianma stated that the Xiaomi Band 8 features a new design and uses a 1.62-inch OLED curved display provided by them. Compared to a rectangular display, the curved display increases the visible area by 25%, has a resolution of 326ppi, a brightness of 600nit, supports a 60Hz refresh rate, and has a seamless auto-brightness adjustment function. The typical usage time is about 16 days, and the AOD (Always on Display) mode can last up to 6 days.

In terms of functionality, the Xiaomi Band 8 can monitor blood oxygen and sleep, as well as support 150 types of sports modes, including the new running mode. The band can not only monitor regular running data but also provide 13 types of professional data, such as step frequency, stride length, ground contact time, and landing impact, as well as provide professional analysis for all types of data.
Additionally, Tianma also stated that they provided a flagship-grade ultra-high-definition LTPS display with a 2.8K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate for the Xiaomi Tablet 6 series. Previously, TCL Huaxing also announced that they would provide screens for the Xiaomi Tablet 6 series.
