Furthermore, according to Gizcoupon’s report on the shipment volume of major mobile phone brands

  • Samsung shipped 6.3 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 11%, and its market share was 21%.
  • OPPO shipped 5.5 million units, a year-on-year increase of 18%, and its market share was 18%.

Canalys analyst Sanyam Chaurasia stated that the Indian smartphone market faced difficulties earlier this year, but suppliers continue to drive market development and remain optimistic about long-term prospects. As economic indicators at the end of Q4 2022 clearly indicated that demand would remain sluggish in the short term, a similar situation arose in Q1 2023.

The Indian mobile phone market is highly competitive, with multiple brands vying for market share. In addition to Samsung, OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, and realme, other popular brands in India include Apple, Nokia, and OnePlus.
