According to Nevada’s records, Musk is the sole director of X.AI, while the office director of the Musk family office, Jared Birchall, is the company’s secretary. Moreover, Musk has hired engineers from top AI labs, including former DeepMind employee Igor Babuschkin and approximately six others. Additionally, X.AI will use Twitter content to train its language model and benefit from computing resources from Tesla.

It is worth noting that Musk is one of the co-founders of OpenAI. Initially, OpenAI had a mission to create a safe environment for artificial intelligence. It ensures that the technology is distributed as widely and evenly as possible to benefit the majority of people as a non-profit organization. Musk left OpenAI in 2018, citing a desire to focus on operating Tesla.

Musk’s move to start a new AI company is not surprising, given his past involvement with OpenAI and his interest in AI technology. However, the success of X.AI in competing with OpenAI, which has already established itself as a leader in the field, is uncertain.
