April 6th news, Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi 13 Ultra with an upgraded optical system in collaboration with Leica. The phone has a 6.7-inch Samsung AMOLED LTPO E6 display with QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Moreover, It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 platform, up to 16GB RAM, and 512GB storage.

However, it is the mobile imaging capabilities of the device that are causing the biggest stir. According to Leica, the new upgrade marks the perfect Summicron lens for mobile imaging. It will deliver consistent, exceptional optical performance across a range of different smartphone lenses, from wide-angle to telephoto, making it the “coming-of-age” of mobile imaging. This announcement suggests that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra may have one of the best smartphone cameras on the market.

Rumors suggest that it will have four rear cameras, including a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and two 50MP telephoto lenses, and a 32MP front camera. The main camera might have a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor. Other camera features include a 120X digital zoom and 8K video recording.

Xiaomi’s CEO confirmed the launch of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The device will run on MIUI 14 based on Android 13 and have a 4900mAh battery. It will support 90W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. However, there has been no mention of a 1TB version of the device.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra has already obtained three certifications, including the Wireless Radio Transmission Equipment Model Approval Certificate, Telecom Equipment Access Permit, and China Compulsory Product Certification, and is expected to launch a pre-sale promotion soon.
