On February 7, OnePlus will uncover a new smartphone for the Chinese market. The OnePlus Ace 2 is the next on the company’s list. Though it’s going to be a true beast, this handset doesn’t get appropriate attention. We still can’t understand why.
OnePlus Ace 2 screen highlights
Look, the Ace 2 will sport a 6.7-inch OLED screen. The latter is going to have a whopping 2772Ă—1240 resolution and support 2160Hz PWM dimming. Today, the company also announced the this phone would bring unprecedented game quality. There will be a built-in super-frame super-picture engine to achieve 120 fps for 100+ games.
Due to the exclusive self-developed super-frame super-picture engine, the OnePlus Ace 2 can make the game screen clearer and more brilliant.
The chip
Apart from this, the OnePlus Ace 2 will sport the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. But this is the full-blooded version and not the regular version. Its CPU frequency reaches 3.2GHz. In contrast, the CPU frequency of the down-clocked version of the Snapdragon 8+ is 3.0GHz.
An OnePlus executive said that the advantage of the full-blooded version compared to the down-frequency version is that, relying on the upper-frequency limit of the full-blooded version, the Ace 2 can obtain a more extreme performance output release.
Qualcomm emphasized that the performance of the Snapdragon 8+ chip is quite good. With strong performance and low power consumption, it has the potential to become a new king in the market. Hundreds of engineers have worked on it. In effect, the OnePlus Ace 2 reached 1.14 million scores on AnTuTu. This is the highest benchmark score among all Snapdragon 8+ mobile phones. So we can say that the performance of the Snapdragon 8+ has been raised to a new height in the industry.
The OnePlus 11R / OnePlus Ace 2 appeared in the GeekBench database again. The model of the machine is “PHK110”. Currently, there are 16 benchmark score records on the GeekBench platform, of which the highest single-core score is 1341 points, and the multi-core score is 4118 points.
Other features
In the screenshots, we can also see that the memory capacity is 16GB. One of the bloggers said that the memory it uses is LPDDR5X, which has a bandwidth of 8533Mbps. But the Snapdragon 8+ supports up to 6400Mpbs. So it doesn’t leverage the new memory technology.
What we also know is that the handset will come with a triple camera on the back. The camera module will include a 50MP main sensor and 8MP and 2MP secondary sensors. There will be a 5000mAh battery with a support for 100W wired fast charging. The phone will run the OxygenOS 13 system based on Android 13.
At present, the biggest mystery of the Ace 2 is the price. Referring to OnePlus Ace pricing, the price of the OnePlus Ace 2 should be between 2500-3000 yuan ($370-$444).
