Honor launched the Magic 4 flagship series last year. With its help, the company topped DXO’s list of cameraphones, scoring 146 points. That’s why many users are eagerly waiting for the next-gen mode, the Honor Magic 5.
Today, a Weibo tipster released a photo showing the actual look of the Honor Magic 5. Judging from the render, the lens layout of the Magic 5 adopts an “equal triangle” arrangement. Thus, the three lenses are evenly arranged in a triangle. It differs from the Huawei models. So the recognition rate is too high.
One of the lenses of the new phone is a periscope telephoto sensor. Plus, we can see that it will support up to 100x zoom.
In addition, the new phone will be offered in three colors of orange, black, and white. By the way, these are the same colors of the Huawei Mate 50 series. But the same source claims that the Honor Magic 5 will come in different colors.
The Magic 5 series should be released around February 27. Compared with the previous two generations, the new phone has improved a lot. This model should be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip.
Honor Magic 5 Lite specs
However, there will be another model in the series, the lower-end Magic 5 Lite (also known as Honor X9a in select markets).
Recently, Winfuture showed the renders of the Honor Magic 5 Lite. What we can see from these photos is that it has many things in common with the basic version.
This variant will come with a Snapdragon 695 chip. This information is also confirmed by Google Play. But this is the bad news. We mean the main improvements will refer to the display and camera and not performance.
However, the Snapdragon 695 on Honor Magic 5 Lite seems to be a special version. It will include two 2.2GHz Cortex-A78 and six 1.8GHz Cortex-A55 small cores, but the standard Snapdragon 695’s small core clocks at 1.7GHz.
According to Winfuture, this model uses a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel, which provides a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, with a maximum brightness of 800cd, and is also equipped with an under-screen fingerprint sensor.
The Honor Magic 5 Lite will feature an F/1.8 64MP rear main camera, which also integrates a 5MP wide-angle lens with an F/2.2 aperture and a basically meaningless 2MP lens with an F/2.4 aperture. The front still carries a 16MP lens with an F/2.45 aperture.
The battery of the Magic 5 Lite 5G is slightly larger than the previous generation, reaching up to 5100mAh. It will also support 40W fast charging. However, its Type-C interface is only compatible with USB 2.0, and it does not support wireless charging.
Judging from some previous leaks, this model will be pre-installed with MagicUI 6.1 based on Android 12. It will start at 389.90 euros.
