How to disable MSA in MIUI?
Each device automatically runs a service that collects information about you and your Internet requests in order to offer you advertising based on the received data. In the Xiaomi phones, it is MSA, which stands for MIUI System Ads or advertisements in the MIUI system.
So you have to disable this service not to see ads on your MIUI smartphone.
- Go to “Settings”;
- Head to the “Passwords and security” tab;
- Go to “Access to personal data”;
- Change the position of the slider or uncheck this item.
How to disable MIUI Daemon?
There is another service that collects information about you. According to the manufacturers, this is done to improve the service. It is called MIUI Daemon. If you want to limit the collection of data, then disable it. By the way, this will not affect the further use of the device.
Once you have disabled MSA, i.e., advertising, you will be prompted to reboot your device. If not, do it yourself. Why? It is possible that after restarting the system, the checkmark allowing the collection of data for advertising may return. So, after rebooting, follow the path described above again and make sure that the ads are disabled. If not, then the repeated disconnection will definitely work.
How to disable ads on your Xiaomi smartphone?
The above steps might not help in all scenarios. We mean some services or applications might collect data themselves and therefore display ads themselves. So you need to go to the settings of this application and turn off advertising manually.
There is another option to manage the delivery of advertising. Let’s say you’re not against some interesting offers, you just don’t want your data to be used when optimizing the output. In this case, you have to follow the steps below:
- Go to “Settings.”
- Go to “Passwords and security.”
- Next, in the “Privacy” section, go to “Advertising services,” where you can disable advertising personalization.
Advertising in MIUI can be disabled. But personal advertising in Google services might still remain. The good news is that you can turn it off. For this, you need to go to the settings; then, head to “Privacy” and find the “Advertising” tab.
There you can turn off personalization. You should know that it will not be possible to rid the device of advertising completely. When you turn off Google ads, the system will tell you about it.
