For a moment, we thought that Huawei could go through all those difficulties and start its Kirin chip production. But everything is more complicated than you can imagine. Anyway, the company doesn’t give up and continues working on new models / chips.
Although Huawei has no resources to produce its own chips, its HiSilicon team has not completely abandoned the chip design. A few days ago, a Huawei chip model, “KC10,” appeared on the net. In the leaked photo, we can see an unreleased chip called the Kirin KC10, which is the Kirin 9010. It was tested on the Huawei Mate 50 Pro engineering machine. According to a blogger, it is an iterative version of the Kirin 9000. In performance mode, the chip could score over 1.3 million points on AnTuTu. So it turns out that this chip outruns the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

Unfortunately, the chip was provided only for testing and verification. As for mass production, it is definitely impossible at present.
Why does Huawei still design chips?
It’s logical why Huawei acts in this way – the company just doesn’t want its own technology to fall behind, at least it keeps pace with rivals such as Snapdragon.
The Kirin chips currently have two lineups – high-end and mid-range. The former series includes the Kirin 9000, Kirin 9000E, Kirin 990 5G, Kirin 990, Kirin 980, Kirin 970, Kirin 960, Kirin 950, Kirin 930, Kirin 920, and Kirin 910. At the same time, the Kirin 985, Kirin 820, Kirin 810, Kirin 710, Kirin 650, and Kirin 620 belong to the mid-to-high-end series.
