Xiaomi’s MIUI 12 has gone through one of the biggest life cycles in Android UI history. It arrived in 2020 and had an incremental update in 2021 called MIUI 12.5. In the same year, Xiaomi’s kin received a new “advanced” variant that arrived for select devices. After such a long life, Xiaomi has moved on to the MIUI 13 update. The last update arrived almost a year ago and since then Xiaomi has been working hard to update most of its devices to the new version. MIUI 13.5 has been rumored for the past few months, but we were recently surprised by reports that there will be no incremental update this time around. Xiaomi will release MIUI 14 without any additional steps for MIUI 13.
MIUI 14 IS XIAOMI’S NEXT BIG UPDATE
The new Xiaomi MIUI 14 introduces a new design style with some updates here and there. It’s definitely a welcome addition, after all, MIUI 13 didn’t revolutionize the design of MIUI 12. MIUI 14 brings a new system for quick settings and notifications, removing the old iOS-like control center. In addition, the company is adding a new media player that resembles Android 13. Some system apps, such as the calculator and the clock, also received some updates.
The launch date and list of Xiaomi devices that will receive the new update have been spotted. Of course, given the current status of MIUI 14, this is subject to change. In any case, you can already get a clear idea of whether your device will receive it or not.

WHEN WILL THE UPDATE ARRIVE?
The first smartphones that come with MIUI 14 out of the box are the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro. Other devices will likely start receiving the update these days. Given the size of the list, it’s going to be a long road.
