Xiaomi knows how to make good products. Moreover, it knows how to make good products in any category. But unlike other companies, it doesn’t do this directly itself. There are many brands in the Xiaomi eco-chain. Each of them is responsible for a specific niche and products in it. On the other hand, there are concrete segments that Xiaomi likes designing products on its own. The routers are among them. So the company’s first 10-gigabit router released today is not surprising to come our way from the Xiaomi team. The Xiaomi 10G router is out and it brings a top-notch performance.
Xiaomi 10G router parameters
The total rate of the Xiaomi 10G router is as high as 10023.6Mbps. In 2.4GHz/5.2GHz/5.8GHz, it supports 4×4 and 4K QAM modulation, but in 5.2GHz, it supports 160MHz bandwidth.
In terms of interfaces, it provides one 10G (10G) SFP+ optical port, one 10G Ethernet port, four 2.5G WAN/LAN adaptive network ports, and one USB 3.0 interface (300MB/s).
As for hardware, it is the first router in China to sport Qualcomm’s next-generation quad-core A73 enterprise-level processor, Networking Pro 1220. The latter has a main frequency of 2.2GHz. There is also 2GB DDR4 memory (supporting 1000+ whole-house device access). The router has 12 high-gain antennas + a 12-channel high-power signal amplifier. Such a beast needs a good heat dissipation system. There are two cooling systems, including an active cooling silent fan and four pieces of nano-sprayed aluminum sheets for passive cooling.
In terms of main functions, it supports NFC one-touch password-free Internet access, tri-band Mesh networking (independent backhaul, up to 10 networking), Baidu network disk online and local mutual transmission, Xiaomi/Redmi exclusive acceleration, family Internet protection, etc.
Externally, the Xiaomi 10G router continues the design of the AX9000. There are four LED RGB light bars on the top.
The Xiaomi 10 Gigabit Router is priced at 1799 yuan ($259). It will start shipping on December 14.
