Since full-screen displays came into being, about eight years of evolution have passed. In these eight years, mainstream mobile phone manufacturers have explored various full-screen solutions, but none was able to fully realize users’ imagination for real full-screen. This is one of the features that very few brands have constantly pursued so far. And to continue with that, the Chinese company is back with the Nubia Z70 Ultra – a new flagship setting a new benchmark for future trending smartphones.

Nubia Z70 Ultra

The Z70 Ultra features the seventh-generation under-display camera technology, using innovations such as high-transmittance invisible circuits, nano-grade materials, and an independent UDC Ultra display chip. This provides a truly seamless display with no trace of a camera on screen.

Nubia has also overcome previous problems with screen integration and camera quality, providing a display with 1.5K resolution that offers much better aesthetics and front-camera performance compared to traditional designs with a punch hole.

By means of FIAA extreme compression routing and super COP packaging technology, the phone features an ultra-narrow 1.25mm bezel with an excellent screen-to-body ratio of up to 95.3%.

Equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition and the performance combo of LPDDR5X and UFS4.0, Z70 Ultra highlights obviously improved performance. Meanwhile, its Nebula AIOS supports voice interaction for scenarios such as booking tickets and querying stock prices for a really smart user experience.

Redefining Full Screen Experience

The Nubia Z70 Ultra is no exception to this; it has broken the conventional “iPhone-style aesthetics.” The unique design of the back, with a gravity-centered element, and the signature “Window to the Universe” style can be seen with a sleek and unlimited appearance. The three-lens module on the upper back, along with a borderless design, creates a striking visual impact that runs to the edges of the phone.

At the heart of the Z70 Ultra is a custom 35mm main camera with an identifiable red ring, symbolizing Nubia’s dedication to professional quality. It is also Nubia’s first flagship to come with a ten-level variable aperture for greater photographic flexibility. The phone is also fitted with a periscope telephoto camera that can extend the focus up to 50x digitally, with optical image stabilization and an ultra-wide-angle shooter for versatile shooting.

The Z70 Ultra provides the world’s first 1.5K ultra-high-resolution true full-screen display. Its seventh-generation under-screen camera technology uses advanced materials and AI algorithms for a seamless screen integration with a crystal-clear front camera.

Its 6.85-inch AMOLED display, paired with a refresh rate of 144Hz and using Longxi glass for added durability, redefines what a premium full-screen experience should be, making it a standout in the smartphone market.

Triple Focal Lengths, Triple Perspectives

Immerse users in the Nubia Z70 Ultra’s powerful triple-camera system, with unique perspectives provided by three focal lengths. For the main lens, it is a 50MP custom 35mm Sony IMX906 sensor combined with an 85mm 64MP telephoto lens and a 13mm 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens. Together, they form the most iconic camera module in Nubia.

Portrait Samples

The main 35mm camera is called the “golden focal length,” which would be just perfect for portrait shooting with clean and concise composition. It can allow a natural combination of the subject with the environment while maintaining a strong focus on the subject.

Cropped to 50mm, the lens takes on the perspective of the human eye, and that is why portrait shots turn out so great with it. It’s exceptionally good at capturing facial expressions and emotions, providing lifelike and vivid photos with a pleasing background blur effect.

The 85mm telephoto lens will hold better for intimate portraits from a distance to minimize interference and isolate the subject by shrinking the field of view. The telephoto lens features 64MP for lossless image quality, while the OIS makes for highly detailed portraits with clarity-down to the hair and eyes, as well as other facial features.

Main Camera Samples

With the 35mm focal length, the main camera is quite ideal for use in focusing on subjects that are to be captured without any needs for extra zooming. Unlike the usual 24mm, which is very common in most smartphones, the 35mm lens pulls the subject closer without losing out on real-life importance. The result is images true to life with natural colors and minimal adjustments in contrast and saturation.

Samples of Telephoto

The 85mm telephoto lens provides 2.4x optical zoom compared to the main camera and produces the equivalent of 3.5x zoom on other smartphones in its class. The telephoto lens captures highly attractive detail and accurate color reproduction, with a clear rendering of textures and shadows.

Ultra-Wide-Angle Samples

The 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens of the Z70 Ultra is excellent for capturing expansive scenes. Its large sensor allows for impressive light intake, making it ideal for shooting in backlit or high-contrast environments. Distortion correction is enabled by default, ensuring the edges of the images remain sharp and intact. The ultra-wide-angle shots are bright, transparent, and natural, free from the common distortion issues seen with other wide-angle lenses.

In all, the triple-camera system of the Nubia Z70 Ultra, featuring 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm lenses, offers varied, professional photography-assistance capabilities that can very well make it stand out in smartphone photography.

AI Experience

The Nubia Z70 Ultra represents the future UI with its Nebula AIOS and “Future Mode,” making it a voice-controlled interface system for a completely distraction-free environment. The design is extremely minimalist, displaying only the clock and voice assistant, while voice commands handle virtually everything else, creating a futuristic phone experience.

Accessing apps is streamlined; swiping up opens the app list. Swiping up opens the app list, streamlining app access.Tasks like reserving tickets or posting images with captions are now fully manageable through voice interaction, significantly boosting efficiency.

Performance and Gaming

The Nubia Z70 Ultra will come with the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition mobile platform. The upgraded Cortex-X925 super-core CPU clocks up to 4.32GHz from 3.4GHz, delivering excellent peak performance and making this Qualcomm’s most powerful chip yet.
