Although the promotional video doesn’t directly reveal details about the new phone, the recurring appearance of the triangle symbol confirms the previously rumored triangular rear camera module. This distinctive design, featuring the triangle symbol, makes the Huawei Pura 70 series instantly recognizable from the back.
Reports indicate that the Huawei Pura 70 series comprises four models. These include Huawei Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro, Pura 70 Pro+, and Pura 70 Ultra. Notably, the “Ultra” suffix replaces the previous “Art.” This marks Huawei’s debut of the Ultra name on a high-end flagship, promising significant enhancements in configuration and user experience.
The device’s main rear camera uses the Sony IMX989 sensor, a first for Huawei. This sensor boasts a one-inch size, making it the largest in Huawei’s mobile phone lineup. Positioned above the Mate series, the Pura series shoulders the hefty responsibility of reclaiming Huawei’s top spot in imaging capabilities.
Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s Executive Director, CEO of the Terminal BG, and Chairman of the Intelligent Car Solutions BU, stated, “The developmental journey of the P series mirrors the evolution of mobile imaging and the progression of technological aesthetics.”
