Recently, the tech media Android Headlines shared details about the Xiaomi MIX Flip foldable phone, including its camera and screen specifications, by examining the HyperOS source code.
Xiaomi Mix Flip Appeared With Light Hunter 800
According to the information revealed Xiaomi’s MIX Flip foldable phone will feature the OmniVision OV60A sensor for its camera. This sensor, known as the “Light Hunter 800 (ovx8000),” was first introduced in the Redmi K70 Pro, boasting a 50-megapixel resolution. Developed jointly by Xiaomi and Huaqin, the Light Hunter 800 sensor aims to enhance the photography experience with a larger sensor size of 1/1.55 inches, 2.0μm pixel size, and a dynamic range of 13.2EV.
With its 1/1.55-inch sensor size and 2.0μm pixel size, the Light Hunter 800 sensor captures more light, resulting in clearer photos with improved detail. Additionally, the MIX Flip foldable phone will include the Omnivision OV60A sensor, sourced from the HyperOS codebase. This sensor boasts a resolution of 60 Megapixels and a sensor size of 1/2.8 inches. Additionally, the pixels measure 0.61µm.
OV60A Sensor
The OV60A sensor serves as a common choice for front-facing cameras in smartphones such as the Motorola Edge 40 Pro and Edge 30 Ultra. However, Xiaomi has opted to position it on the back of the MIX Flip foldable phone. According to leaks, the MIX Flip will feature a small screen just below the main camera module. This screen will allow users to view notifications and take selfies using the rear camera.
Xiaomi has integrated the OV60A into the MIX Flip, enabling users to enjoy 2x optical zoom capabilities. Additionally, the Xiaomi Flip will boast a 32-megapixel front-facing camera, similar to the OV32B used in models like the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Motorola Edge 40. While the Xiaomi 14 Pro and Redmi K70 Pro have a screen resolution of 2K with a density setting of 560, the MIX Flip is expected to have a resolution of 1.5K, slightly lower than 2K. According to the model names “2405CPX3DG / 2405CPX3DC,” Xiaomi is likely to launch the MIX Flip foldable phone in May or June of this year.
