According to our sources, the Redmi K80 series smartphones are currently in the testing phase and expected to come soon. The K80 series is expected to simultaneously cover both the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 and Snapdragon 8 Gen4 platforms, similar to the previous K70 series. As usual, the Redmi K80 standard version may feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 processor, while the K80 Pro version is likely to come with the more advanced Snapdragon 8 Gen4 processor.
The tech community eagerly awaits the release of the Snapdragon 8 Gen4, Qualcomm’s highly anticipated next-generation flagship platform scheduled for October. Reports indicate that this chip will mark the inaugural use of TSMC’s 3nm process and will feature the newly developed Oryon core. Anticipated to surpass 4GHz, the CPU clock speed promises to deliver enhanced smartphone performance.
As a reference, the Redmi K70 features a 6.67-inch 3200×1400 CSOT C8 OLED flexible straight screen. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and excels in capturing pictures. The Redmi K70 Pro takes things up a notch by incorporating the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The device introduces the Light Hunter 800 main camera with optical image stabilization. Moreover, both models come with a sizable 5000mAh battery and 120W fast charging technology.
The K80 series may only include versions with Snapdragon 8 Gen3 and Snapdragon 8 Gen4, implying the absence of the Redmi K80E. Previously, Redmi introduced the K60E and K70E models featuring MediaTek Dimensity 8200 and Dimensity 8300-Ultra processors consecutively.
Redmi may reveal the new product by the end of this year, and the company plans to introduce another eagerly awaited “flagship gatekeeper” to the market. For more detailed information about the Redmi K80 series, stay tuned with us.
