At the 2024 Mobile World Congress, Tecno showcased a conceptual prototype called Tecno Phantom Ultimate featuring a unique rollable screen design, measuring approximately 9.93 millimeters in thickness.
In its standard state, the Phantom Ultimate boasts a 6.55-inch screen that expands horizontally. With a single-drive motor system, users can effortlessly press the button on the top right. Instantly, the screen expands from 6.55 inches to 7.11 inches in just 1.3 seconds.
Notably, OPPO previously introduced the OPPO X 2021 concept phone, also utilizing a rollable screen design. The screen measures 6.7 inches, expandable to 7.4 inches. In contrast to OPPO X 2021, Phantom Ultimate features a unique design on the phone’s back – a strip-shaped display area. In its standard state, the screen retracted to the back can be utilized through this area, serving as a secondary screen for functions like displaying notifications and providing a lock screen display.
The Tecno Phantom Ultimate features a 7.11-inch LTPO AMOLED panel. It boasts a resolution of 2296 x 1596 pixels and a PPI of 388. Additionally, it provides complete coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut.
Tecno has already introduced two foldable phones, namely Phantom V Fold and V Flip. Currently, it remains unclear whether Tecno Phantom Ultimate has any plans for release.
