Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong announced that the Huawei Pocket 2 Fashion Ceremony will be held at 14:30 on February 22. Huawei will launch a new small foldable phone by then.
It provides a sneak peek into the design of Pocket 2. This phone continues the double-circle shape from the previous generation. The upper circle houses the rear camera module, while the lower circle is a secondary screen displaying essential information like notifications and rear camera previews.
In terms of hardware upgrades, Huawei Pocket 2 will have a significant improvement in configuration. Multiple sources suggest the phone will feature Huawei’s own Kirin 9000S 5G chip. This marks Huawei’s debut of a small folding phone with Kirin chips and its initial small folding product supporting 5G networks. The Kirin 9000S adopts a 1+3+4 architecture design, including one 2.49GHz large core, three 2.15GHz medium cores, and four 1.53GHz small cores, with a Maleoon 910 GPU.
Additionally, it has a 4520mAh battery, supports 66W fast charging, has also upgraded the lens module and secondary screen, and will offer purple leather and gray glass versions, and the art version will still use 3D relief technology.
Furthermore, the naming of HUAWEI Pocket 2 substantiates previous rumors, indicating that Pocket will evolve into a distinct Huawei mobile phone series, alongside the Mate/P series. This move signifies Huawei’s commitment to broadening its product line to cater to diverse consumer needs, with the imminent release of Pocket 2.
