Nothing company recently declared its upcoming mobile phone, the Nothing Phone 2a, scheduled for an official launch on March 5. The design of this new phone will maintain the characteristics seen in the previous two generations, with the continued use of LED lights and a transparent back panel.
The promotional video reveals the Nothing Phone 2a’s placement of rear cameras in opposite directions, positioned closer to the center of the back. Additionally, configuration-wise, this phone is likely to function as an entry-level product for Nothing Phone. It may feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 mobile platform.
The processor utilizes TSMC’s second-generation 4nm process technology. The CPU architecture comprises 2 x 2.8GHz Cortex-A715 and 6 x Cortex-A510. The GPU architecture is Mali-G610 MC4. The phone features 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space, and it runs on the pre-installed Nothing OS operating system.
The new phone has a large 6.7-inch screen with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, likely an AMOLED panel. The camera setup includes a 50MP GN9+50MP JN1 rear camera and a 32MP IMX615 front camera.
Chris Weightman, the designer, emphasized that Nothing Phone (2a) will maintain a focus on transparency. The Glyph LED light group on the back is undergoing slight modifications. These modifications aim to showcase a unique design style. The goal is to create a contrast with the previous Nothing Phone (2). During the pre-heating video, Nothing Company unveiled various design drafts. Drawing inspiration from Massimo Vignelli, the celebrated Italian designer behind the New York subway map, the mobile phone’s design reflects his influence.
Pricing
In terms of pricing, the entry-level model, featuring 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, is priced at 349 euros. If you opt for the higher-end version with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, it comes at a slightly higher cost of 399 euros.
