The tech media, 9to5Mac, delved into today’s release of the tvOS 17.4 Beta 3 update and uncovered a new device identified as “Z314” with an A15 chip embedded, likely the screen version of the Apple HomePod.
Media reports are as follows:
Our investigation reveals that the unreleased “Z314” device utilizes the A15 Bionic chip, interestingly identical to the iPad mini 6. The code indicates that Apple is not only testing internal development versions but also production versions, suggesting that this new HomePod product has entered the subsequent development stage.
Reportedly, the latest test version has added the SwiftUI framework to the HomePod firmware to support a HomePod with a display. Numerous reliable sources have leaked that Apple intends to launch a HomePod with a touchscreen. In March 2023, Ming-Chi Kuo stated that Apple is developing a HomePod with a 7-inch display.
Kosutami, a leaker in October 2023, mentioned that the next-generation HomePod will have a design similar to the current model but with a large LCD touchscreen on the top instead of an LED array. Stay tuned with us for more future updates.
