Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Chinese Version Released: Starts From 5499 Yuan

Tonight, the Chinese version of the new Samsung Galaxy S24 series was officially released, introducing three models: the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. The sale date is set for January 31, with prices starting from 5499 yuan ($775).

Design

Continuing the design language of its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series features a straight screen and boasts IP68 waterproof and dustproof capabilities. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, equipped with a robust hardware stack and an integrated S Pen stylus, weighs 232g and has dimensions of 162.3 x 79.0 x 8.6mm. The S24 and S24+ come in four colors: Ink Black, Elegant Rock Grey, Mineral Purple, and Light Amber Yellow. Meanwhile, the S24 Ultra offers four distinct shades: Titanium Grey, Titanium Black, Titanium Dusk Purple, and Titanium Feather Yellow, incorporating a titanium alloy frame for added durability.

The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra have display sizes of 6.2 inches, 6.7 inches, and 6.8 inches, respectively. The resolution of the Galaxy S24 is 2340×1080, the S24+ is at 3200×1440, and the S24 Ultra is at 3088×1440. All models achieve a peak brightness of 2,600 nits and support an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1-120Hz. Notably, the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s screen is fortified with Corning Gorilla Armor glass, enhancing fall resistance and clarity. Its frame, made of titanium alloy, ensures greater durability.

Hardware

All models of the Chinese version of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series are equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chips, boosting the ultra-large core frequency to 3.39GHz. An expanded vapor chamber achieves enhanced heat dissipation performance and stability. The Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra exclusively offer 12GB of running memory, while the Galaxy S24 is available in both 8GB and 12GB variants.

Cameras

The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ uphold a similar setup to their predecessors, actively featuring a trio of cameras. Firstly, they boast a 50MP main camera equipped with OIS light stabilization. Secondly, they include a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera. Lastly, they present a 10MP telephoto lens, offering 3x optical zoom.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra, however, steps up with an upgraded 50MP periscope telephoto lens, supporting 5x optical zoom and up to 10x optical quality zoom via lossless crop zoom technology. The other three cameras remain consistent with the Galaxy S23 Ultra, including a 200-megapixel main camera, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. While the periscope telephoto lens doesn’t natively offer 10x optical zoom, Samsung asserts that the combination of Galaxy AI and hardware improvements provides superior 10x zoom performance compared to the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Battery

Battery life varies across the series. The Galaxy S24 houses a 4000mAh battery, supporting 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. The Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra are equipped with 4900mAh and 5000mAh batteries, respectively, both supporting 45W wired and 15W wireless charging.

The new phones run on Galaxy AI and the deeply customized One UI 6.1 system, based on Android 14, bringing a host of AI-driven features and innovations.

Galaxy AI

Samsung showcases the Galaxy S24 series’ advanced AI capabilities, actively integrating practical functions such as input, translation, recorder, notes, and cameras. These features aim to deliver a more convenient and efficient user experience. Additionally, the global version of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series features a Google-customized circle-and-search tool. This innovation enables high-power searches directly, eliminating the need for app switching.

Firstly, AI calling enables one-click real-time translation in 13 languages, processed on the device to ensure privacy and security. This feature is particularly useful for travelers needing to communicate with taxi drivers in foreign countries, helping to overcome language barriers.

Secondly, Samsung’s keyboard now integrates AI multi-language translation, offering a more intuitive translation experience within chat windows. This feature eliminates language barriers in conversations, with the AI writing assistant even offering various tones for selection.

Additionally, Samsung’s voice recorder now includes an AI voice transcription feature that can differentiate between voices, aiding in organized note-taking. The new Samsung Note function, powered by AI, assists users in efficiently organizing shorthand content.

AI imaging is another significant enhancement in the Samsung Galaxy S24 series. The Super Vision Engine removes reflections and glare in photos; AI elimination allows for customized picture processing to reduce photo flaws or enhance creative expression; and AI background change is also a user-friendly feature.
