Apple has officially declared the imminent launch of the “Apple Music Classical” app in mainland China on January 24th, tailored specifically for classical music enthusiasts. Starting January 24th, existing Apple Music subscribers can seamlessly access “Music Classical” without any additional charges or intrusive advertisements.
With an extensive classical music streaming library exceeding 5 million tracks, “Music Classical” boasts the world’s largest collection, as per Apple’s official announcement. The current iteration of the “Music Classical” app includes over 120,000 works from 20,000 composers, featuring a staggering 400,000 movements, with thousands of albums offering immersive spatial audio experiences.
Notably, the app encompasses hundreds or even thousands of versions of classic movement recordings, such as it has 18,000 versions of Beethoven’s iconic “Ninth Symphony.” Furthermore, the app extends its appeal by offering thousands of tailored recommendations based on relevant works and composers. Apple collaborates with leading classical music experts, artists, and opinion leaders to curate nearly 700 specialized playlists.
Compatible with all iPhones and iPads running iOS 15.4 or higher, the app ensures widespread accessibility to users. Media reports indicate that the app achieved immense popularity in North America and Europe following its 2023 launch, quickly becoming the most sought-after free app in the App Store.
Within two days of its global release, the classical music albums featured on the app secured positions on album charts in over 140 countries and regions, setting a remarkable new record for this genre of music.
