Xiaomi recently launched the e-paper book 7-inch, which starts at 1,399 yuan (about $197) and will hit shelves at 10:00 am today.
In the realm of ID design, the Xiaomi e-paper book 7-inch embraces side-grip physical buttons and incorporates an ergonomic uneven back panel design. Weighing merely 166 grams, the entire device feels light even during prolonged use.
Featuring a 7-inch 300ppi high-definition screen utilizing Carta1200 technology generation ink, this product exhibits a 20% increase in response speed and a 15% has in contrast ratio compared to Carta1000. Additionally, it introduces support for a self-developed balanced refresh mode, along with 32 levels of warm and cold dual-color temperature automatic dimming, and automatic screen rotation.
A low-power quad-core RK3566 CPU, dedicated to the Ink Screen, powers the electronic paper book’s core configuration, which includes 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space. Running the Android 11 system, it boasts multiple pre-installed Ink Screen-adapted apps such as WeChat Reading and Himalaya. Connectivity-wise, this e-paper book supports 2.4GHz/5GHz dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.2, with the added convenience of USB for file transfer.
Concerning battery life, this e-paper book integrates system-level power consumption optimization, providing approximately 40 hours of reading time on a full charge. The host incorporates a built-in 1200mAh battery, while the official magnetic charging case includes a 1950mAh battery, resulting in a claimed standby life of 7 weeks when used together.
