During the Xiaomi Auto Technology Conference, Lei Jun excitedly revealed a significant technological advancement: Xiaomi EV Technology super large die-casting technology, a 9100-ton integrated die-casting process.
Lei Jun elaborated on the technology’s features and benefits with enthusiasm. He highlighted that while Tesla’s Shanghai factory operates with a 6,000-ton die-casting machine and its latest factory boasts a 9,000-ton one, Xiaomi has leaped forward with its custom-designed 9,100-ton integrated large die-casting equipment cluster system. Additionally, Xiaomi has crafted three bespoke solutions to guarantee absolute reliability.
Furthermore, Xiaomi has pioneered a unique die-casting material named “Titan Alloy.” This material, notable for its high strength, toughness, heat resistance, and environmental friendliness, has undergone extensive development. Lei Jun shared that among 10.16 million alloy formulas, this one stood out after 1,550 tests and incorporates 30% recycled aluminum.
Xiaomi 9100-ton Integrated Die-Casting Technology shines in its application within the “72-in-1” three-section rear floor of the SU7 model. This innovation significantly outperforms traditional die-casting methods, eliminating 840 welding points, enhancing in-car noise reduction by 2dB, and cutting weight by 17%. Moreover, the technology boosts anti-collision strength and extends the lifespan to over 2 million kilometers, setting a new industry standard.
