Xiaomi has officially unveiled the E20 Cat Eye version of its smart door lock, now open for pre-order on JD.com and other platforms, with an introductory offer priced at 1,299 yuan (about $179).
Moreover, this new product maintains its predecessor’s design and core features, the E20 WiFi version. However, it enhances the experience by incorporating a camera cat-eye. It has a 2.3 Megapixel, 172° super wide-angle sensor. This addition ensures a clear outside view, complete with full-color night vision capabilities in low-light conditions.
Furthermore, the Xiaomi Smart Door Lock E20 Cat Eye Version enables visual communication with visitors. It offers an added layer of security with its voice-changing call feature, particularly beneficial for children at home. The E20 Cat Eye version also doubles as a security device. It captures abnormal activity outside in real-time, allows remote viewing, and supports free cloud storage with a 3-day refresh cycle. Remaining consistent with the E20 WiFi version in other respects, the lock features a conventional handle design. It supports various unlocking methods, including fingerprint, password, one-time/periodic password, NFC, mobile phone Bluetooth, and a physical key.
Xiaomi Smart Door Lock E20 Cat Eye Version has AI 3D fingerprint recognition technology, achieving a 99.2% accuracy rate and a rapid recognition speed of just 0.5 seconds. Additionally, its AI self-learning algorithm enables continuous improvement in fingerprint recognition, reducing the unlocking time the more it is used. The lock connects directly to the Internet via WiFi, integrating seamlessly into the Mijia ecosystem without requiring a gateway. This connectivity facilitates smart home integration, such as automatically turning on lights and the TV when you arrive home from work.
In terms of power, it features a dual battery system, offering up to 12 months of battery life. The 5000mAh lithium battery ensures the lock functions optimally for 5-7 months. Once depleted, it smartly switches to 4 dry batteries for continued operation. The system sends a reminder when the battery drops below 20%, and in emergencies, it supports unlocking via a Type-C emergency power supply.
