Samsung Electronics is set to launch the world’s first Galaxy Book 4 series on the 15th of this month. The laptop will feature Intel’s next-gen processor, Core Ultra, making it the first AI laptop, according to industry insiders.

Samsung aims to highlight the symbolic significance of the Galaxy Book 4 series by unveiling it one and a half months earlier than the previous generation. this Galaxy Book 4 stands in stark contrast to the Galaxy Book 3 series notebooks released earlier this year. The reason for releasing it in advance is to underscore its pioneering status in AI. Expected to feature Samsung’s self-developed large AI model “Samsung Gauss,” the Galaxy Book 4 series eliminates the need to transmit collected information to a central server, achieving local operation support.
The Core Ultra series processors used in the Galaxy Book 4 series include a neural network processing unit (NPU) in the system-on-chip for the first time, enabling the notebook to handle multiple AI computing tasks without a network connection. Additionally, the report notes that LG Electronics and HP are also contemplating launching AI notebooks equipped with Core Ultra processors and are currently in the “weighing opportunity” phase. In contrast, the standard model will showcase a Core Digital 1st generation processor. Additionally, the Ultra model provides an optional upgrade with an RTX 4070 independent graphics card. Shifting the focus to the display, the standard version boasts a 1080p screen, whereas the Pro and Ultra models elevate the experience with 2.8K OLED panels.
