According to media reports, Apple plans to eliminate the silent paddles in all models of the iPhone 16 series set to release next year. Instead, all series will feature standard operation buttons.
Moreover, reports indicate that the iPhone 16 standard version will introduce this innovative feature for the first time, in addition to the Pro and Max models. Of significance is the fact that the operation buttons on the iPhone 16 will adopt a capacitive technology for the first time. A pressure sensor will equip these buttons to detect varying pressures, thereby providing additional functionalities.
It is worth noting that the upcoming iPhone SE 5 will also integrate operation buttons, indicating a departure from the silent paddles on iPhones starting next year. The operation button, initially introduced by Apple in the iPhone 15 series, remains exclusive to the Pro and Max models.
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max replace and upgrade the traditional toggle mute button with an operation button featuring enhanced features, providing users with a broader range of choices. These operation buttons enable users to seamlessly switch between silent mode, focus mode, and auxiliary functions. Moreover, they can be used to access features such as the camera, flashlight, and shortcuts.
