On April 18, 2023, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi Band 8. This new generation of smart bracelets offers two versions: a regular version and an NFC version. The regular version is priced at 239 yuan (about $33) for the first sale, while the NFC version is priced at 279 yuan (about $39), providing users with more choices.
Firmware Updates and iOS Support
The Xiaomi Band 8 NFC version recently received a firmware update to version 1.4.178. This update introduces the automatic pause and start function for the cycling sports mode, enhancing the convenience of sports tracking. Simultaneously, it adds new support for the Apple iOS power widget to enhance the bracelet’s compatibility with Apple devices.

Featuring a 1.62-inch Tianma OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate, 326PPI pixel density, and a maximum brightness of 600nit, this bracelet ensures a clear and smooth display effect. The unique runway-shaped design and stepless automatic brightness adjustment function enable it to deliver excellent display effects in different environments. Additionally, the bracelet adopts a quick-release structure, comes in two middle frame colors (light gold and bright black), and supports a new necklace design.
The calfskin material constructs the strap of the bracelet, and it features a double-circle leather wristband in a matching black and white color. The slit design adds a sense of hierarchy. However, it’s important to note that when the second loop of the strap is under the fuselage, it may affect the accuracy of heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep, and other functions.
