At the 2023 IoT Ecosystem Partner Conference, Xiaomi unveiled its open-source system Vela, which adheres to the Apache 2.0 open-source protocol. Vela serves as a cross-device fast application framework, enabling developers to perform one-time development and operation across multiple devices. To facilitate this, Xiaomi introduced Aiot-IDE, a rapid application development tool specifically designed for Vela. Interested parties can download Aiot-IDE and access detailed information about Vela on Xiaomi’s official website.
Currently, Vela only supports development in Ubuntu systems and supports Ubuntu 20.04. The development tools are developed based on Node.js. Node.js needs to be installed first. The minimum version is 14.0.0.
Aiot-IDE bears a striking resemblance in both appearance and functionality to Microsoft VS Code. Notably lightweight, it provides a user-friendly environment that accelerates the onboarding process for developers. Additionally, the development of quick applications mirrors web development practices, offering users a seamless and intuitive experience.
Furthermore, Xiaomi took the opportunity at the conference to launch its global partner program officially. The initial batch of manufacturers has completed basic adaptation, marking a significant milestone. For more comprehensive details, interested individuals are encouraged to explore Xiaomi’s official website.
In short, Xiaomi Vela introduces Aiot-IDE, a tool designed for developing quick applications on Vela. Reports indicate that these applications, collectively referred to as Xiaomi Vela fast applications, are created on Xiaomi smart wearable devices.
