Xiaomi has officially unveiled its inaugural car, the Xiaomi Auto SU7 Car, marking its entry into the automotive realm. Representing a significant milestone, this vehicle is an all-electric coupe with a truly remarkable design. The overall aesthetic exudes a sense of luxury, with subtle influences from Porsche and McLaren detectable.
Notably, online images immediately revealed the interior of the car, focusing on the key driving components, especially the multi-function steering wheel. Examining the images, the steering wheel of the Xiaomi Auto SU7 adopts a flat-bottomed shape with an overall three-spoke style. Impressively, it incorporates two distinct function knobs. The left knob appears to be associated with driving assistance, while the right one, distinguished by a red circle, is dedicated to driving mode adjustments.
This particular design is not novel for Xiaomi. Two years ago, Volkswagen’s high-performance sub-brand Cuopra employed a similar approach with the Formento, showcasing a combat-ready style that resonates. Additionally, the center of the Xiaomi SU7’s steering wheel proudly displays the Xiaomi letters instead of a logo. The button and scroll wheel layout on the left and right sides is reminiscent of the Porsche Taycan, adding a touch of familiarity.
Moving beyond the steering wheel, the unveiled photo provides a more comprehensive view of the Xiaomi Auto SU7. Features include a full LCD instrument panel, a HUD (head-up display), a gear lever, a floor-mounted accelerator pedal, and a door opening button integrated into the door panel handle—a design reminiscent of Tesla.
According to the official declaration, the car will be available in various two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions. The battery options include lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium, sourced from BYD and CATL, respectively. Notably, optional features encompass Lidar technology and performance brake calipers, reflecting Xiaomi’s commitment to providing diverse choices for potential buyers.
