The Snapdragon 7 Gen3 CPU comprises 1×2.63GHz +3×2.4GHz +4×1.8GHz, with the large core being Arm Cortex-A715 and integration of Adreno 720 GPU. Additionally, it adopts the TSMC 4nm process. In contrast, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen2 CPU is 1×2.91GHz+3×2.49GHz+4×1.8GHz, incorporating Adreno 725 GPU.
Comparing Snapdragon 7 Gen3 to Snapdragon 7+ Gen2
Upon further observation, it becomes apparent that the overall performance of the Snapdragon 7 Gen3 is slightly inferior to that of the Snapdragon 7+ Gen2 released this year. A well-known blogger notably revealed that the Snapdragon 7+ Gen2 bears a relatively high cost and currently powers only a select few models, including the Redmi Note 12 Turbo and Realme GT Neo5 SE.
In summary, the Snapdragon 7 Gen3 has made moderate adjustments in specifications, constituting a “suck-back toothpaste” scenario, returning to the standard level of the Snapdragon 7 series but falling short of reaching the sub-flagship level. Expectations are that this chip will enter commercial use next year, drawing interest from manufacturers like Xiaomi, vivo, Oga, and others.
Honor 100 Series to Feature Snapdragon 7 Gen3 and Snapdragon 8 Gen3
As flagship smartphones equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor are gradually hitting the market, mid-range models from various manufacturers are also in the pipeline. Looking ahead, Honor plans to officially release the Honor 100 series on November 23. Based on previous leaks, we anticipate that the Honor 100 will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, while the Honor 100 Pro will run on the Snapdragon 8 flagship platform.
Both the Honor 100 and Honor 100 Pro offer two color options—purple and white. Both models boast distinctive designs with a high recognition value. The standard version of the Honor 100 features a center-aligned single-hole display, and its camera module adopts a semi-circular irregular appearance. On the other hand, the Pro version opts for a center-aligned dual-hole display, and its camera module sports an elliptical-shaped design.
Currently, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor and the new Honor 100 series have limited information available. We anticipate gradually unveiling more details shortly.
