Recently, Xiaomi Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. obtained authorization for its “vehicle rear wing” patent, as reported by the Qichacha APP. The applicant applied for the patent in early April this year, and we expect it to remain valid until April 2033.
The patent abstract reveals that the “vehicle rear wing” comprises a rear wing bracket, a first movable spoiler, a second movable spoiler, a first angle adjustment mechanism, and a second angle adjustment mechanism. These mechanisms allow for independent adjustment of the angles of the first movable spoiler and the second movable spoiler, generating additional steering torque to assist in steering and facilitating the driver’s operation.
In the realm of automobiles, sports cars or sports sedans typically feature rear wings. They can alter the direction and speed of airflow, which, in turn, lowers the vehicle closer to the ground during high-speed driving, thereby enhancing stability. Xiaomi’s car design continues this tradition, with Lei Jun confirming that Xiaomi Motors is progressing smoothly and will officially go into mass production and launch in the first half of the upcoming year.
It is noteworthy that the “Xiaomi vehicle rear wing” is classified as a utility model patent, focusing on technology that enhances steering torque by adjusting the rear wing’s angle. This technology has already been applied in several high-performance models, yielding positive results.
