Huawei has officially announced its roadmap for the upcoming upgrades to HarmonyOS 4 today. It’s worth noting that in the first quarter of next year, 12 phone models, including Huawei Mate 20 and P30, will receive the upgrade, while several smart TV models have already started recruiting fans for beta testing. As of today, HarmonyOS 4 has become one of the fastest-upgraded versions in the history of HarmonyOS.
HarmonyOS 4, a mobile operating system, introduces new features such as “Live Windows” for smartphones and tablets and enhances efficiency tools like expanded Super Device support for more apps and Super Desktop expansion for mobile game streaming to intelligent cockpit screens. Furthermore, Xiaoyi voice assistant has undergone significant AI model upgrades, enabling complex scenario generation, quick summarization, text creation, and natural conversation support.
According to Huawei’s Executive Director, Yu Chengdong, who announced via Weibo, Harmony OS 4 has become one of the fastest-upgraded versions in the history of HarmonyOS. Currently, 136 devices have joined the Harmony OS 4 upgrade, with 74 of them having completed full-scale Harmony OS 4 deployment, 6 in public testing, and 19 in fan beta recruitment.
It’s worth mentioning that in this announcement, Huawei did not specify any particular device models or system version numbers, making it difficult to determine which devices are eligible for the HarmonyOS 4 upgrade. Previous reports suggest that the upgrade is expected to encompass Huawei Mate 20, P30, and other models as some of the most anticipated candidates.
Furthermore, this announcement did not specify the exact release date for Harmony OS 4. Nevertheless, we can confirm that these devices will receive the upgrade early next year.
