Apple will host a “Swift Momentum” event on October 31st at 8 a.m. Beijing time, possibly unveiling some new products, including the latest Mac and iPad models. Prior to this, a regulatory database may have already leaked information about some of these new products.

Apple Battery

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the 24-inch iMac is getting an M3 chip upgrade. Additionally, Mac’s Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad accessories will shift from Lightning to USB-C connectors. Apple plans to include the Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse with the iMac. Gurman predicts that the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro will also receive upgrades, moving to the M3 Pro and M3 Max chips.

The newly submitted battery information matches the original battery capacity, indicating that the new products are unlikely to have changes in battery capacity. However, due to improved power efficiency in the new chips, these products might still offer longer battery life. Resubmitting battery information suggests the presence of new products. For example, Apple resubmitted the battery information for the Apple Watch Series 8 to the same regulatory database before launching the Apple Watch Series 9, and indeed, they used it in the Series 9.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple plans to upgrade the 24-inch iMac to the M3 chip and to replace the Lightning interface with the USB-C interface for Mac’s Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad accessories. Apple will include the Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse in the iMac’s packaging. Additionally, Gurman anticipates upgrades to the M3 Pro and M3 Max chips for the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.

The document contains battery details for the sixth-gen iPad Mini. This hints at the seventh-gen iPad Mini using the same battery. Gurman and Ming-Chi Kuo both mentioned no new iPads until 2024 or possibly the end of this year. So, an iPad Mini announcement tomorrow isn’t certain. Apple announced the sixth-generation iPad Mini at its September 2021 event. The next-generation model may feature the A16 Bionic chip introduced in the iPhone 14 Pro and could offer improvements to reduce the “jelly scroll” issue.

Rumors earlier this month about the imminent release of a new iPad proved to be inaccurate. Instead, Apple merely released a low-cost Apple Pencil in a press release, equipped with a USB-C interface. This new Apple Pencil will be available in early November, and the new products announced at the event tomorrow may also become available at the same time.
