Two former Apple design and engineering team executives founded Humane, and they are all set to release their inaugural wearable device, the Ai Pin, on November 9.
Reportedly, this clothing-based wearable device lacks a screen and is roughly the size of a cookie. Additionally, it boasts a camera, microphone, and speakers, as well as various sensors and laser projectors. It allows users to attach them to their clothing using magnets. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, delivering smartphone-level speeds, connectivity, camera capabilities, and security.
In terms of intelligence, the device features an integrated system that combines “proprietary software and OpenAI’s ChatGPT.” It’s worth noting that the product description initially mentioned “built-in GPT-4,” but this detail was later removed. Furthermore, the product includes a privacy indicator light that illuminates when the camera, microphone, or input sensor is in use.
The Humane AI Pin made its debut at the TED conference in April this year. During the event, Humane’s co-founders showcased its functionality, using it as a voice assistant and projecting a small screen onto their palms. Stay tuned with us for more future updates.
