Recently, at the Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii, Qualcomm officially unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which will serve as the standard processor for Android flagships in 2024. Qualcomm has also released the official benchmark scores for the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 processor. In Geekbench 6, it notched a single-core score exceeding 2300+ and a multi-core score surpassing 7400+.
According to the official information, TSMC’s 4nm process technology underpins this system, featuring a nine-core Kyro CPU architecture in the CPU subsystem. This processor exhibits a 30% performance boost and a 20% increase in power efficiency when compared to its predecessor.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU core distribution: 1+5+2
The core distribution, denoted as 1+5+2, includes one substantial core for handling peak performance scenarios, five mid-level cores operating at two different frequencies, and two efficiency cores catering to low-power or straightforward tasks. The detailed core configuration comprises 1x Cortex-X4 clocked at 3.3GHz, 3x A720 at 3.2GHz, 2x A720 at 3.0GHz, and 2x A520 at 2.3GHz.
Moreover, the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 is furnished with an Adreno GPU, resulting in a 25% increase in performance and a 25% enhancement in power efficiency compared to the previous generation. Additionally, concerning the NPU, there has been a remarkable 98% boost in artificial intelligence performance, coupled with a 40% improvement in performance per watt.
Notably, we obtained some data from synthetic benchmark tests conducted on a Qualcomm reference design phone. This phone has a 6.65-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a 4,192mAh battery, 24GB of LPDDR5x memory clocked at 4.8GHz and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 achieves AnTuTu V10 score exceeding 2.1 million
The test data demonstrates that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 achieved an AnTuTu V10 score exceeding 2.1 million. In Geekbench 6, it attained a single-core score of over 2300+ and a multi-core score surpassing 7400+. These results clearly underscore the remarkable performance and efficiency of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, whether in high-performance scenarios or low-power tasks.
