Additionally, Lu Weibing shared his insights on the global mobile phone market. He believes that this year marks the low point, and he anticipates a 5% increase in the global market for 2024. Shifting our focus to the Chinese market, in 2022, mobile phone sales reached around 272 million units. However, this year’s estimate stands at approximately 268 million units. Despite this, he maintains an optimistic perspective. He projects that sales in the Chinese mobile phone market will bounce back to over 280 million units in the upcoming year. This underscores his positive outlook for the market’s future.

A report by Canalys reveals a 10% year-on-year decline in global smartphone shipments during the second quarter of 2023. This decline amounted to 258 million units. Despite this slowdown, Samsung remains the market leader, holding a 21% market share, which translates to 53 million units. Apple takes the second spot, with a 17% market share, while Xiaomi secures third place with a shipment of 33.2 million units. In the fourth position, OPPO, along with OnePlus, holds a 10% market share. Notably, Transsion, making its debut in the top five, achieved a shipment of 22.7 million units.
