Huawei has rolled out the HarmonyOS 4.0 firmware update to its Huawei AX3 Pro router, featuring a high-performance quad-core CPU. This update is identified by the version number HarmonyOS 4.0.0.12 (V3R2). Notably, it introduces two new Wi-Fi features and adds support for PC gaming acceleration. Let’s delve into the details.
Firstly, the firmware update introduces the “Synergy Dual Wi-Fi” feature, enabling select Huawei smartphones to connect simultaneously to both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks of the router. This enhancement results in faster and more stable internet connectivity for Huawei smartphone users.
Secondly, it adds a PC gaming acceleration feature that opens up an exclusive gaming acceleration pathway, significantly improving the overall gaming experience. Furthermore, the update enhances the system’s security and stability.
Huawei AX3 Pro Router Features
Huawei initially released the AX3 Pro router with a powerful quad-core 1.4GHz CPU in March 2020, pricing it at 329 yuan (about $45). The AX3 Pro router features a quad-core 1.4GHz CPU and supports a 160MHz wide bandwidth, resulting in nearly double the close-range speed compared to traditional Wi-Fi 6 routers. Additionally, it supports Huawei’s “One-Tap to Share Wi-Fi” feature and NFC functionality, allowing Android smartphones to connect to the Wi-Fi network without entering a password. The router also supports features like mobile gaming acceleration, online class acceleration, remote office acceleration, and child internet protection.
Notably, the Huawei AX3 Pro router supports dynamic narrow bandwidth, which increases signal strength by up to 6dB by reducing the smartphone’s bandwidth when transmitting to the router. With a wireless speed of up to 3000Mbps, this router can achieve long-range coverage even through walls. Smartphones and tablets with 160MHz wide bandwidth Wi-Fi 5, such as the Mate30/20 series, P30 series, MatePad series, and tablet M6 series, paired with Huawei Wi-Fi 6+ routers, can experience faster speeds.
