Vivo introduced 200W flash charging technology in the iQOO 11 Pro last year. While many expected Vivo to incorporate this technology more widely into their lineup this year, it appears that they have not done so.
Vivo has temporarily shelved its 200W flash charging project. They are now preparing 120W / 100W fast charging and a 6000mAh± large battery solution, utilizing custom high-density cells. Based on the information currently leaked, it seems that the iQOO 12 smartphone will no longer feature this extended battery life option.
Certification information from the Telecommunications Terminal Industry Association reveals that both the iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro models employ dual-cell batteries. The standard version has a rated battery capacity of 4880mAh, while the Pro version has a rated capacity of 4980mAh. This is clearly quite different from the 6000mAh battery solution mentioned by the blogger.
Looking back at the previous-generation iQOO 11 Pro, it featured an equivalent 4700mAh battery, supporting 200W fast charging. It used dual-cell, ultra-thin “automotive-grade” 10C super-thin laminated batteries, and a three-way charge pump charging scheme, boasting a “full charge in 10 minutes.” The iQOO 11 smartphone utilized 120W wired fast charging and featured an equivalent 5000mAh battery.
Due to limited internal space in smartphones, manufacturers typically need to make trade-offs between high-capacity batteries and high-power fast charging. Which battery life option do you prefer?
