OnePlus recently confirmed its plan to launch the OnePlus Open, its first foldable screen model, in global markets on October 19. This launch date is rapidly approaching, and the steady stream of product-related information regarding the new phone has garnered considerable attention. Furthermore, someone recently leaked real-life photos of the new phone, showcasing a design that closely aligns with previous rumors.
The photos of the actual device reveal that the OnePlus Open will feature a horizontal inward folding screen design. Both the inner and outer screens will equip perforated displays, framing them with a right-angled middle frame. The device is also expected to have the classic three-stage Mute key on its side. Additionally, it may position a circular rear multi-camera module above the central axis of the phone’s back. This module prominently displays an “H” logo and situates the fill light in the upper left corner of the back. Concerning color options, it appears that at least black, green, and gold versions will be available.
Rumors suggest that the OnePlus Open will feature hardware specifications, including a BOE screen with a 2K resolution, an impressive 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 2800nit. It is also expected to have support for 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The Snapdragon 8 Gen2 main control is likely to power it, offering storage options of up to 16GB and 1TB. The phone might have a 4805mAh battery and support 100W wired fast charging. We expect the upcoming set up to feature a rear three-camera system. It consists of a 48-megapixel Sony LYT808 main camera CMOS for the primary camera, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 64-megapixel OV64B periscope telephoto secondary camera.
Analyzing the latest OnePlus Open leaks reveals a striking resemblance to the upcoming OPPO Find N3 in China. It’s likely that the OnePlus Open serves as the global version of the OPPO Find N3, boasting enhanced performance and camera capabilities. Nonetheless, precise information about OnePlus’ new foldable screen gadget is pending official confirmation. Those interested should keep an eye out for future updates.
