The central bank has updated the “Notice on License Changes in Major Matters for Non-Bank Payment Institutions,” leading to fresh developments in Huawei’s payment business. According to the information released, the central bank has approved the change in the company name of Shenzhen Xunlian Zhipay Network Co., Ltd. to “Petal Payment (Shenzhen)” Ltd.”

Tianyancha APP reveals that Xunlian Zhifu is a payment company under Huawei, wholly owned by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., with Zheng Liying as the chairman and Ma Chuanyong as the general manager. Established in June 2013 with a registered capital of 200 million yuan, it obtained a payment license in 2014 and initially had an affiliation with ZTE. Subsequent equity transfers took place. In March 2021, Xunlian Zhipay changed ownership once more, becoming a payment institution under Huawei. Notably, Huawei also secured a payment license, making it the second mobile phone manufacturer after Xiaomi to do so.

In response to this change, Huawei offered insights in an interview with a reporter from the “Kechuangban Daily” today. Huawei emphasized that the name change holds no significant implications. In essence, Huawei has accelerated the development of the Hongmeng ecological infrastructure, and the newly upgraded negative screen now fully supports Huawei’s payment services. This marks a crucial step in promoting Hongmeng Yuan services, as major partners like Didi, Meituan, Maoyan, and Tongcheng have all embraced the negative screen as part of their Yuan services offerings.
