In tonight’s Honor new product launch conference, the Honor Magic Vs2 was officially unveiled, adding to Honor’s lineup of thin and light folding screen phones. This follows last month’s release of the external folding screen Honor V Purse.
Comparatively, the Honor Magic Vs2 weighs 2 grams less than the Honor Magic V2, setting a new record for folding-screen mobile phones at 229 grams. Additionally, when folded, the Honor Magic Vs2 has an ultra-thin design of 5.1mm and a thickness of only 10.7mm. The Honor Magic Vs2 features the self-developed Honor titanium hinge. This hinge uses mortise-and-tenon integrated molding technology to combine the hinge shaft cover and the hinge body. Furthermore, it employs the industry’s lightest rare earth magnesium alloy, commonly used aluminum alloy, reducing the overall weight of the device while maintaining strength.
The Magic Vs2 features a down-clocked version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+Gen 1, clocked at 3.0GHz in its core configuration. It also includes support for Honor’s self-developed GPU Turbo X and OS Turbo Memory chip. Additionally, it incorporates a dual TEEOS security system to enhance data and payment security. As for the screen, the Magic Vs2 sports a 6.43-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2376×1060 and a 20:9 screen ratio. Its specifications include 1-120Hz LTPO, 3840Hz PWM dimming, 10-bit color depth, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut.
The internal screen is a 7.92-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2272×1984 and a screen ratio of 9.78:9. It shares similar specifications with the external screen, including 1-120Hz LTPO, 3840Hz PWM dimming, 10bit color depth, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. Both the internal and external screens provide a consistent display experience for seamless daily use.
In the imaging department, the Magic Vs2 features a 16MP front camera on both the internal and external screens. At the rear, it houses a 50MP main sensor, a 20MP telephoto lens (2.5X OIS), and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens. Notably, it supports 40X digital zoom and Eagle Eye capture.
The Honor Magic Vs2 features a 5000mAh battery with 66W fast charging. It provides an extra 2 hours of battery life compared to the iPhone 15 Pro when exclusively using the external screen. Running on the MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13. Magic Vs2 supports the breath wake-up input method voice-to-text, with stylus support on both internal and external screens.
The Honor Magic Vs2 comes in two versions and three colors. The 12GB+256GB variant costs 6,999 yuan (about $960), while the 16GB+512GB variant costs 7,699 yuan (about $1055). Color options include velvet black (feather fiber), glacier blue (feather fiber), and coral purple (plain leather). Officially launching on October 17th, the Honor Magic Vs2 promises a remarkable and feature-rich mobile experience for consumers.
