On September 25, during its new product launch conference, Huawei introduced its first Wi-Fi 7 single router product, the “BE3 Pro,” boasting a maximum speed of 3600Mbps. Notably, the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands offer speeds of 688Mbps and 2882Mbps, respectively.
Huawei is a major contributor to Wi-Fi 7, with 24% of the proposals. The BE3 Pro supports 160MHz bandwidth, 4K QAM, and dual-band aggregation for a 92% speed increase and 77% latency reduction. For Wi-Fi 6 devices, it offers the Lingxi dual Wi-Fi function. When paired with Huawei mobile phones or tablets, it achieves performance levels akin to Wi-Fi 7 dual-band aggregation acceleration. Additionally, it supports Multi-RU, a feature that allows the allocation of multiple RUs to a single user. This provides more precise and flexible network bandwidth control, enhances frequency band utilization, and incorporates a preamble puncturing anti-interference function.
The device has four PA+LNA signal amplifiers, which expand coverage by 40% and boost medium to long-distance transmission rates by 30%. The router, running on HarmonyOS, features four key smart functions. Game Turbo technology accelerates over 160 games, including 70+ PC games, reducing latency and packet loss by over 20%.
Secondly, it provides children’s online care features, including parental control of game time, reporting children’s online behavior, and parent rewards and sharing.
Thirdly, it offers visual intelligent diagnosis, featuring visualizations of faults, signal coverage, network topology, and self-troubleshooting tools for 78 common fault scenarios. Lastly, there’s HomeSec security protection, which safeguards against violent attacks, intrusive internet surfing, and privacy breaches.
In terms of design, it sports an obsidian color scheme with gold silk screen printing. The antenna has been redesigned to resemble the upturned tail of a sports car, and the heat dissipation holes have been strategically rearranged. The standard version comes with three Gigabit network ports, with one exclusively designated for e-sports gaming, prioritizing the highest bandwidth.
Huawei will soon launch the BE3 Pro router with the following pricing. The standard version includes a Gigabit network port and costs 399 yuan ($54). While the high-end version, which comes with a 2.5G network port, is priced at 499 yuan ($68).
