DJI has officially launched the new Mini 4 Pro aerial photography drone, marking it as the most technologically advanced and high-performance product in the Mini series to date.
Continuing the tradition of a lightweight body design, it maintains a weight of less than 249 grams. In its unfolded state, it measures 298 x 373 x 101 mm, while when folded, it shrinks to a compact 148 x 94 x 64 mm. Breaking new ground in the series, Mini 4 Pro now has omnidirectional active obstacle avoidance. Equipped with four wide-viewing visual sensors and a downward-looking binocular visual sensor, it can accurately detect obstacles in all directions. Moreover, the built-in APAS advanced auxiliary flight system aids the aircraft in intelligently perceiving its surroundings and swiftly making optimal flight decisions. It can autonomously brake when encountering obstacles and dynamically choose alternate paths.
The intelligent range control works with waypoint flight and advanced intelligent return functions. It automates route planning with selected waypoints. Additionally, it enables long-distance steady flight at a fixed speed. The system displays AR return paths and avoids obstacles on return routes.
The next-gen DJI O4 image tech can send HD images over 20 km and supports 1080p/60fps resolution. DJI’s enhanced image module boosts flight safety in 4G-covered obscured areas. It has an upgraded image processor, a 1/1.3-inch sensor, dual native ISO fusion, F/1.7 aperture, and 2.4-micron four-in-one pixels. It offers 12 Megapixels for smart photos and up to 48 Megapixels in RAW for horizontal and lossless vertical shots.
The Mini 4 Pro shoots 4K/60fps HDR, 4K/100fps horizontal and vertical videos. Its 10-bit D-Log M mode records 1 billion colors, HLG mode captures high dynamic range colors, and the night scene video mode reduces noise in low light. The upgraded omnidirectional following function enables custom trajectories for camera movement effects.
It provides lens movement templates, one-click short video mode, motion trajectories, and multiple photography options like time-lapse and panoramas. The standard flight battery offers 34 minutes of flight time or 18 kilometers of range, which can be extended to 45 minutes or 25 kilometers with the Mini 3 series battery.
The DJI Mini 4 Pro comes in four versions, ranging from 4,788 yuan (about $654) to 7,388 yuan (about $1,010). You can also buy amplifying lenses, ND lenses, blade protection covers, and image transmission module kits separately.
