Redmi Pad SE: A Budget-Friendly Tablet Priced at 1,499 Yuan

Xiaomi will launch its upcoming entry-level Redmi Pad SE at a price of 1,499 yuan(about $206). In contrast, the current Redmi Pad starts at 1,099 yuan(about $151) and offers a 2K 90Hz screen. It’s worth mentioning that the release of the Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE will coincide with the Redmi Note 13 launch on September 21, scheduled for 19:00 on that day. The tablet is currently available for pre-order on JD.com in three color options: black, purple, and green.

Based on pre-release information, it’s evident that Redmi Pad SE places a strong emphasis on achieving a “thousand-yuan quality benchmark” and positions itself as the brand’s entry-level model. The tablet features an 11-inch eye-protecting large screen and an all-metal unibody body. Impressively, it offers a standby time of up to 73.2 days, calculated through simulated sleep standby scenarios.

The tablet debuted in the European market on August 15 with various configurations, including 4/6/8+128GB. It comes in lavender purple, graphite gray, and mint green colors. The pricing details for the European market are as follows:

  • 4+128GB: 199 euros
  • 6+128GB: 229 euros
  • 8+128GB: 249 euros

The European Redmi Pad SE features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chip and a screen with a peak brightness of 400 nits. It supports a dynamic refresh rate ranging from 30Hz to 90Hz and boasts an 84.4% screen-to-body ratio. With an 8000mAh capacity battery built-in, it supports 10W charging. In terms of photography, the tablet boasts an 8-megapixel main camera with an f/2.0 aperture on the rear and a 500-megapixel selfie lens with an f/2.2 aperture on the front. Notably, the selfie lens supports automatic subject tracking, ensuring that people remain centered in the frame during video calls.
